Open Boys Hockey Team
Our Boys Knockout Hockey campaign began in July with the Sydney Southwest Central Venue Day. The boys played two games, winning against both Elizabeth Macarthur and Westfields Sports High School to be crowned SSW Champions.
Next up, we had the NSW CHS Round of 16 against Hunter Sports High School. Despite trying their best, unfortunately the boys lost 3-1, with our departing Captain Campbell Osborne scoring a goal.
As always, our boys displayed great sportsmanship and represented our school with pride.

CHS Knockout Open Girls Hockey Team
Congratulations to the Open Girls Hockey Team who came 2nd at the Sydney South West round robin day for the CHS Knockout competition.
You could count the hockey players on one hand and numerous girls put up their hands to give it a go to field a team! And they were brilliant!!
The team came away with a draw, a loss and 2 wins allowing them to qualify for the next round of the comp!
The girls are now aware that they are locked in as hockey players every year whilst at EHS!!
Open Girls Hockey Team
The next game for the Open Girls Hockey Team was against Albury High School.
After some swift negotiations, the game was organised to be held in Lithgow!
They left bright and early and crossed the mountain to arrive to cold and rainy weather. However, this did not dampen the girl’s spirit.
They defended, defended and defended- and played their hearts out!
The team went down 6-0, however, the girls should be very proud of their efforts!
With a range of students from Years 7 to 10 with varying levels of experience, they worked together as a team and were strong competition.
We are incredibly proud of them all and can't wait to see what they do in the coming years when they all play again!
U15s Boys and Girls Basketball
On the 21st of August, the U15s Boys and Girls Basketball teams competed in the Macarthur Zone CVD. Both teams represented Elderslie with pride, with the boys team unfortunately losing to Oran Park in the Grand Final and the girls teams being successful in advancing to the next round of the competition over Camden.
The U15s Girls Basketball team competed in the SSW CVD at Minto Basketball Stadium on the 2nd of September. All players worked extremely hard and demonstrated quality skill and performance. Unfortunately, the team did not advance to the final but are to be commended on their efforts!
Year 9 and 10 AFL Gala Day
On the 3rd of September, the Senior Boys and Girls AFL Teams competed in the Stephen Coniglio and Amanda Farrugia Cup in Birrong. The boys team worked extremely hard and displayed an extensive degree of skill and intensity for the entire day.
A big shoutout to Paul V of Year 10 who was scouted by the Giants staff and will be attending an Academy Workshop this coming term. The girls team were successful in becoming champions of the entire day, winning their Grand Final over Rooty Hill, whom they had previously lost to in Round 1 of the competition.
This is a first for our school in this championship, in which all students are to be incredibly proud of their accomplishments. Massive congratulations to Annalise R of Year 9 who was named player of the match and a big shoutout Charlotte M of Year 11 who was a fabulous coach on the day. Well done to all students who competed in the competition!
U15s Girls Netball
A fantastic day for our Under 15 Netball team at Tahmoor Sports Centre!
The girls put in an outstanding effort, remaining undefeated all day and securing their place in the next stage of the competition!
A huge congratulations to all of our players on an incredible result. Your teamwork, determination and sportsmanship were fantastic to see.
A special thank you to Alira for giving up her time to umpire for us throughout the day – we really appreciate your support!
Year 8 Soccer Gala Day
Our Year 8 Girls Soccer campaign kicked off earlier this season with strong performances throughout the tournament. The girls played some excellent soccer, showcasing great teamwork, skill, and determination. Their efforts paid off as they advanced all the way to the finals.
In a closely contested match, our girls narrowly missed out on the championship, losing by just one goal. Despite the heartbreaking finish, our team demonstrated resilience and sportsmanship, making the entire school proud.
Well done to all the girls for their hard work and dedication. We look forward to seeing what this talented group can achieve next season!
Year 7 Soccer Gala Day
Our Year 7 Girls Soccer team began their Gala Day journey with enthusiasm and spirit, competing against schools across the region. The girls played some fantastic soccer throughout the day, demonstrating excellent teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination.
Their efforts saw them advance to the finals, where they finished as runners-up after a hard-fought match. Despite finishing second overall, the girls gave it their all and represented our school with pride.
Under 16 Girls Soccer Team
Our Under 16 Girls competed in the Western Sydney Wanderers 5-a-side tournament with great enthusiasm and skill. The team made an impressive start by winning the initial tournament, showcasing their talent, teamwork and scoring ability.
Their success earned them a spot in the finals tournament, where they fought hard against strong competition and ultimately finished in a commendable fourth place overall.
The girls' dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the competition were outstanding and made our school proud.
Congratulations to the team on a fantastic effort, and we look forward to seeing their continued success in future tournaments!
Silver Duke of Edinburgh Hike
In Week 7 of Term 3, Elderslie High School’s Silver Duke of Edinburgh students completed an incredible 35km hike from Bundeena to Heathcote. Over two days, students navigated challenging bushland terrain, carried their own equipment and worked together to successfully complete the expedition.
The students demonstrated resilience, teamwork and independence throughout the hike, supporting one another as they tackled steep sections of the track and encountered native wildlife along the way. Despite the physical demands of the expedition, the students maintained a positive attitude and showed great determination from start to finish.
Congratulations to all of our Silver Duke of Edinburgh students on an outstanding achievement!
Jersey Day
Elderslie High School recently celebrated Jersey Day, with students and staff wearing their favourite sporting jerseys to raise awareness and support for organ and tissue donation.
The school was filled with colour and school spirit as students proudly represented their favourite teams throughout the day. Students also had the opportunity to enter a Jersey Day raffle, with a range of fantastic, signed AFL, NRL and A-League sporting merchandise up for grabs.
Jersey Day provided an opportunity for our school community to come together while learning more about the importance of organ donation and the impact it can have on the lives of others. Thank you to all students, staff and families who supported the event and helped make Jersey Day a success.
