Year 7 Interschool Sport
At Heathmont we believe it’s important that all students have the opportunity to participate in interschool sport and have the honour of representing their school. ALL students attend the Year 7 sports days which occur once per term. We will have multiple teams on these days and will cater for students that are experienced at these sports but also cater for students that are new to these sports.
Please note, the interschool sport program is for ALL Heathmont students. It is not exclusively for Academy students and additionally, Academy students don’t get preference in teams over other students.
Parents are welcome to attend these interschool sports days to provide positive support and to cheer on our teams.
Students will sign up for these sports each term in year level assemblies.
All sports days are $20 and require consent through Compass.
YEAR 7 SPORTS DAYS
Term 1 (Friday 27th March) – Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Tennis
Term 2 (Friday 19th June) – Boys Football (Australian Rules), Football (Soccer), Girls Netball, Badminton
Term 3 (Friday 4th September) – Basketball, Hockey, Table Tennis
Term 4 (Thursday 12th November) – GALA DAY – Ultimate Frisbee, Handball, Futsal, Touch Football
OPTIONAL SPORTS DAY
These are Year 7 and 8 combined teams. Normal classes operate on these days for students that haven’t joined these teams.
Term 2 (Thursday 21st May) – Girls Football (Australian Rules), Boys Netball
Term 4 (Thursday 15th October) – T20 Blast Cricket
HEATHMONT CARNIVALS
These carnivals are a good mix of fun, community days and athletic competitions. Results from these carnivals help form our school teams that compete at Mullum Division level.
Term 1 (Monday 2nd February) – Swimming @ Aquanation
Term 2 (Tuesday 28th April [tbc]) – Cross Country @ Heathmont College, Dandenong Creek Trail and surrounds
Term 3 (Monday 31st August) – Athletics @ Proclamation Park
