Music and Performing Arts 

On Thursday evening, Koonung sold out its first music concert of the year, the Five Note Concert. The Five Note Concert is a celebration of the achievements of Koonung’s beginner instrumentalists. Most importantly, it is a celebration of the screeches, squawks and honks produced by beginners, as they begin a lifelong journey of sharing and making music.

The evening featured performances from Junior Concert Band, Junior String Ensemble, Junior Guitar Ensemble and Beginner Duets, as well as performances from Koonung’s Intermediate and Senior ensembles.

A huge thank you to all instrumental staff for preparing the ensembles: Curtis Reardon (Guitars), Cathy Narayan (Upper Strings), Joshua Verco (Lower Strings, Guitars), Lauren Innes (Brass) and Yolande van Oosten. Thank you also to our 2025 Music Captains, Jeremy Ball and Bridget Dods, for compering the concert.
