Sports Day 2024

Anita Sharrad -HPE leader

We're excited to bring you the highlights of our recent School Sports Day held at Happy Valley Football Oval on 7 March. The school was alive with spirited competition and camaraderie. It was great to see the display of colours and creativity with students who dressed up and got involved in the house chants at the start of the day. Well done to Yarlu who took out the win for the best house chant this year.

The day started with a mass Spoke Relay event which saw all year levels competing. It was a great way to start the day and got everyone involved. Through the day we saw moments of grit, perseverance, and personal bests! Every student participated to their best ability and stepped up when needed. We also congratulate the students who won a place in the Athletic events. These students have been invited to come along to our the SSSSA Athletics event held in week 9 on 26 March at Athletics SA Stadium.

APHS has introduced running records this year. This not only recognises the achievements of our students but also motivates them to aim higher and strive for greatness. It will add an extra layer of excitement and competition to our Sports Days in the future. Students’ names and records are published below.

The scores were very close throughout the day. However TIRNTU came out to win the day with 2413 points. Congratulations to the TIRNTU team, the house captains and house leaders. Points table pictured below.

As we look forward and start to plan the 2025 Sports Day, we must thank the people that made this day possible. Thank you to the Happy Valley Football Club for the use of their grounds and clubrooms, the grounds staff for prep work and organisation of equipment, the Wellbeing leaders and the SRC for running the BBQ and bake sale all day, the Health & PE team for their organisation in the weeks leading up to it and finally to all the staff and students who helped out and participated.
