KSC SHINES ON STAGE

Last Friday and Saturday night, the KSC stage lit up with energy, creativity, and heart as our incredibly talented students presented the unforgettable production of If This Couch Could Talk.  From captivating performances and live music to the seamless work of our lighting, sound, and backstage crews, every aspect of the production was a testament to the dedication and teamwork of our students and staff. It was a show full of laughter, emotion, and unforgettable moments—a true triumph for all involved.

Written by our very own Drama teacher, Mrs. Reymers, with an original score composed by Ms. Handley, the play took audiences on a nostalgic and emotional journey through the past 50 years—all through the eyes of an unlikely narrator: a humble living room couch.

Beginning in the stylish home of 1970s newlyweds Margie and George, the couch bears witness to defining moments of each decade—from ‘80s sleepovers and ‘90s garage bands to 2000s share-house dramas, 2010s gaming marathons, and the challenges of modern love in the 2020s. Through each chapter, the couch remains a quiet observer of the ever-changing rhythms of life, love, and growing up.

The production was made possible by the incredible efforts of many. A huge thank you to Ms. Kennedy and Mrs. John for their significant contributions, and to Ms. Deal and her Year 10 Food Tech class for their excellent work on front-of-house catering. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of students handled makeup, hair, choreography, and ushering—your hard work did not go unnoticed!

Both nights were met with fantastic community support, with many familiar faces returning to KSC to enjoy the show. To our wonderful audience—thank you for your enthusiasm, your applause, and for sharing in the joy of this special event.

We are so proud of every student and staff member who brought If This Couch Could Talk to life. It was a true celebration of creativity, collaboration, and school spirit—an experience we’ll always remember.
