SCHOOL LEADERSHIP MESSAGE

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

As we draw to the end of another busy term, I’m reflecting on how proud I am of the students, staff and families at KSC.

Everyone who saw the school production of If This Couch Could Talk, would agree that it was an outstanding show, mixing nostalgia of past eras with humour and talented performances from everyone involved. The band, the backstage crew and the cast worked seamlessly to entertain over two nights. What a credit to our Performing Arts teaching team and our wonderful students. The Year 10 foods class made an array of delectable snacks that sold out on the first night, and Ms Deal then spent Saturday cooking up a storm to replenish the stock. We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated and committed staff and students.

Our Parent Opinion Survey has one more week to go and we are sitting on 42 responses. I am really keen to bump this number up to 60 so we can offer two prize draws – so please, if you haven’t yet done the survey, please take the time to let us know your feedback. It takes around 20 minutes and closes on Friday Sept 19th.

Course Counselling was well attended on Tuesday Sept 2nd. It is an important part of each student’s pathways choices and we thank families for taking the time to attend with your student to support them in making decisions about their future. Parent-teacher interviews are also an important part of students’ educational journeys and next year we plan to make these more accessible to working parents.

Year 12s are working towards their final weeks of classes and joined together this week for a movie night after school. VCE VM students are finalising their projects, and a variety of treats have been available, such as smoothies and cupcakes.

Our playground installation is booked in for the holiday break. If all goes well, this should be ready for use in Term 4. We will work with students on how to use the playground safely and the expected behaviours around this equipment. It has been a huge project for the SRC and Facilities subcommittee to work on this year, and we are all excited to see the cross-fit stations installed and in use. We will have an official launch for the community and look forward to officially thanking our community donors who have helped make this project a reality.
