In our classroom... 

Numeracy

We have been consolidating our knowledge of Place Value. Students have been working with 3-digit, 4-digit, and 5-digit numbers. We have learnt about partitioning numbers, renaming numbers, and ordering. 

Students were challenged with making the value of a given number using MAB. They then had to create a number line, and work out where in the number line their value would accurately fit. 

Literacy

We have been enjoying our Phonics sessions where we have focused on our handwriting, segmenting and blending of sounds. Part of our phonics sessions include Fluency Reading. Students read to a peer, and provide feedback. It has been wonderful to hear the positive and constructive feedback amongst readers, and then seeing the feedback implemented in the next read. 

The Gruffalo was introduced as our next mentor text. We are learning to create narratives that tell the story of a charcter's adventure. The Gruffalo has terrible claws, and terrible tusks in his terrible jaws. So far, our characters that we have created include zombies, mice, chamelons, and crocodiles. We can't wait to share some more about all of their adventures. 

Ninja Playground

We got to have a try of the new Ninja Warrior Playground! It was challenging, and slippery, but so much fun.
