First of all, it is so wonderful to be back in the classroom with all of these amazing students to see the fabulous learning that has already taken place without me! I can't wait to see what the rest of Term 1 has in store.
We have been working on expanding simple sentences to build on from only having the who and the do (which are the noun and the verb). It is important to be able to add extra details to our sentences, especially when it comes time to add in those pesky conjunctions!
We have made our first attempt at expanding our sentences with describing the 'when', or the timeframe of the verb occurring. Take a look below at the students who volunteered to share their learning with the school community!
Some students have challenged themselves to level up and include extra descriptive phrases to extend their sentences even further! But not too far, though, otherwise that creates a run on sentence and that type of sentence is really long and have lots of different ideas in it and definitely doesn't include punctuation and it makes you feel like you're running out of breath reading it! Whew!

You may have seen, or more likely heard about, the new Ninja Warrior course that has appeared in the old tyre play area. It is a very exciting development, and the students are absolutely loving challenging themselves to make it around. However, some of the parts of the course are juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust a touch too high for us at the moment!
But never fear! There are definitely parts of the course that we can use, and the students have already shown their persistence and resilience to make it across jumping platforms, across swinging rope bridges, along turning monkey bar handles, and all the way up and over the climbing wall.
The uphill running ramp does remain elusive for us, despite giving it our best attempts...
