Before School Junior Tennis Programs

After the success of Term 1, we are bringing before school tennis back to Mount Carmel College. It doesn’t matter if your child has played tennis before, or never picked up a racquet – our program is designed to be inclusive for all ages and abilities.

Our program will run for 5 weeks, during which your child will be involved in a variety of movement and hand-eye coordination drills which are essential to progressing their overall tennis ability. Don’t be surprised if you see us using a soccer ball or some fishing nets – we love to get creative with the ways we develop our skills. By the end of the 5 weeks players should all have a basic understanding of groundstrokes, serves and scoring.

Duration: 45 mins

When: 7.45am – 8.30am Thursday morning

Where: Mount Carmel Tennis Courts

What to bring: Racquet (if you have one - if not we have plenty!), a drink bottle and running shoes.

Dates: 2 May, 9 May, 16 May, 23 May, 30 May

Coach: Catherine Krueger – I am 25 years old and have been playing tennis since I was 10. I was the number one junior and represented Tasmania multiple times in events interstate and overseas. I am really passionate about increasing female participation in our sport. I hope to be a good role model and mentor for your child and get them to love tennis as much as I do.
