Year One

In Weeks Eight and Nine, the Year One classes had the opportunity to attend Como House. Como House is a historical mansion once owned by the Armytage Family and is now owned by The National Trust. The house was built in 1847! The visit was to develop the conceptual understanding, ‘Daily life changes over time’ within the learning area of History.
Students engaged in four activities: a tour of the mansion focusing on “then and now” comparisons; solving a mystery along the trails of the garden; servants’ work in the laundry; and teacher-led 19th century games on the lawn.
The Year One teachers and students would like to thank the parent helpers that attended. We had an amazing time!
