Foundation Learning Community

Foundation – Week 4
It is getting very busy in Foundation! We have lots of exciting learning and special events coming up as we make the most of our final weeks together.
Pevan and Sarah Excursion
We are looking forward to our excursion to Albury for the Pevan and Sarah concert on Friday 20th November. There are only 13 school days to go! Please ensure you complete the required forms on PAM when they are released next Wednesday.
Swimming – Week 8
To help our swimming mornings run smoothly, it would be very helpful if children could come to school wearing their bathers under their uniform. Please also pack a pair of thongs or slides for your child to wear to and from the pool.
Students may wear their sports uniform throughout the week. Please ensure all clothing and belongings are clearly named.
Important reminder: Current Foundation students will have no school on Wednesday 25th November.
Hats
As we are now in Term 4, it is essential that every child brings a hat to school each day. Our No Hat, No Play policy is being reinforced, so please ensure your child has their hat ready for outdoor activities.
In the Classroom
We are incredibly proud of our hard-working Foundation students and the progress they continue to make!
In Mathematics, we are exploring place value, learning to make and represent numbers using tens and ones.
In Literacy, we are learning to read and spell four- and five-letter words. We are very impressed with the progress students are making as they develop their decoding skills and apply these to their reading.
Please continue to encourage and support your child with their home reading. As the texts become longer and more complex, regular practice at home plays an important role in building confidence, fluency and understanding.
It is also important to keep practising our Tricky Words. These can be found on the laminated sheets in your child’s reader folder and in their reading diary. A little practice each day makes a big difference!
A Big Thank You to Our Grandparents!
A heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful grandparents who visited our classroom today. It was lovely to meet you, and the children were absolutely thrilled to share their learning and classroom experiences with you. We appreciate you taking the time to be part of our Foundation community and help make the day so special!
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We truly appreciate being able to work in partnership with you as your children learn and grow. Please remember that our door is always open, and we are always happy to chat if you have any questions or concerns.
Warm regards,
The Foundation Team
