Acting Principal's Message

Big Adventures, Bright Sparks and Brilliant Joeys!
What an action-packed fortnight we've had! From exciting science experiments and camp adventures to sporting achievements, special visitors and beautiful community connections, there has certainly been no shortage of learning, laughter and memorable moments!
Science has been POPPING across our classrooms! Our budding scientists have been making bath bombs, popping popcorn, exploring outer space and conducting fascinating experiments. These hands-on experiences have sparked curiosity, critical thinking and plenty of excitement.
Our Grandparents Day celebrations were an enormous success! It was heartwarming to see our school filled with grandparents and special visitors enjoying assembly, classroom activities and a picnic with their grandchildren. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so special. We know our grandparents are experts in love, wisdom and perhaps a little spoiling!
Our Year 2 students have enjoyed some fantastic adventures! Their school sleepover was filled with games, leadership activities, biscuit decorating, yoga, movies and plenty of treats. A visit to Thompson's Beach even included a surprise encounter with local police officers (in a good way)! Students also visited Twisted Science in Echuca, exploring interactive exhibits and making exciting discoveries. Both experiences encouraged independence, confidence and curiosity.
Meanwhile, our Year 5 and 6 students enjoyed three days and two nights at Borambola Sport and Recreation Centre. Camp provided wonderful opportunities to develop resilience, strengthen friendships, embrace challenges and create lasting memories. A huge thank you to our dedicated staff and parents for making this experience possible!
Our sporting Joeys have been shining! Our Division Basketball team progressed to the semi-finals in Shepparton after an impressive three wins, one draw and one loss. Meanwhile, 15 athletes proudly represented St. Joseph's at the Regional Athletics Carnival in Albury, with Lawson G and Callum H qualifying for the State Championships. Congratulations to all competitors, and thank you to Miss Ryan and Tash for their coaching and encouragement.

We also welcomed ABCD Dental for three days of student dental health checks, providing a convenient and valuable service for participating families.
One of my favourite highlights has been seeing our Year 5 students return to Irvin House for their Wednesday afternoon visits. Through bingo, conversations, jokes and plenty of laughter, our students have been building beautiful connections with residents. These moments are a wonderful reflection of our Sisters of Mercy heritage, demonstrating that compassion, kindness and service can make an enormous difference in someone's day.
As I reflect on another wonderful fortnight, I am reminded that education is about so much more than what happens inside a classroom. It is about building character, embracing opportunities, developing confidence, nurturing relationships and learning to make a positive difference in the world.
Our students continue to demonstrate what it means to be Always Respectful, Always Safe and Always Learning, and I couldn't be prouder! Thank you to our incredible staff and families for your continued support. With the end of the year approaching, there is still plenty of excitement, learning and laughter to come!
