Prep News

As we come to the end of Term 3, we can’t believe how quickly the term has flown by! It has been a busy and exciting term in Prep, filled with special events, new experiences and lots of wonderful learning. We are so proud of how much our Preps have grown and all they have achieved this term.

👨 Father's Day Morning

We loved welcoming our dads and special people to school for our Father’s Day celebrations. The morning began with a delicious breakfast together, followed by a special liturgy. Afterwards, our dads visited the Prep learning space, where they joined the children for some LEGO building. It was wonderful to see the children so excited to share their classroom and spend this special time together.

🧪 Scienceworks

Our Scienceworks excursion was another highlight! The Preps had a fantastic day exploring the exhibits, investigating how things move and learning more about forces through hands-on experiences. The children represented our school beautifully and loved having the opportunity to take their learning beyond the classroom.

🙏🏽 Preps in Pyjamas

We also enjoyed our special Preps in Pyjamas Faith Night. Coming back to school in our pyjamas made the evening extra exciting and provided a lovely opportunity for our Prep families to come together and share in our faith.

📚 Literacy

Back in the classroom, we have continued to be very busy learners. In Literacy, the children have been writing their own Guess the Animal books. They have been thinking carefully about the clues they can give their readers without revealing their animal too soon!

🔢 Mathematics

In Maths, we have been learning about data collection. The children have been gathering information, recording their results using tally marks and using the data they collect to answer questions and make comparisons.

✝️ Religion

During Religion, we have been learning about the different parts of the Mass and developing our understanding of what happens when we gather together to celebrate.

🌍 Inquiry

Our Inquiry learning has been full of experimenting and investigating! As part of our learning about forces, the children have explored cause and effect using dominoes and had lots of fun investigating pushes and movement with stomp rockets. We have also begun exploring circuits, experimenting with circuits that create sound and light.
