CLAY TARGET SHOOTING 

Yarra Valley Schools Student Championships

On Thursday, 1st May, 7 LHS students competed in the Yarra Valley Schools Student Championships run at the Melbourne Gun Club.   

  • Chloe Hughes-Gage: Year 8
  • Jack Van Helmond: Year 9
  • Nathan Naylor: Year 9
  • Lachie DeVine: Year 11
  • Taj Durrant: Year 11
  • Riley Hughes-Gage: Year 11
  • Dylan Naylor: Year 12

The students all shot extremely well, with Lilydale High School WINNING the 'Teams Event' for the day. They competed in DTL, Skeet, and Field and Game, with 10 shots at each station.

Chloe Hughes-Gage WON the barrage shootout at the end of the day, competing against all the day's winners from all age groups. A fantastic result. She also won the Junior Girls Competition for the day with a 20/30 result.

Dylan Naylor won the Overall Championship on the day, but only after a sudden death shootout against Riley Hughes-Gage, as they were on the same score after the competition rounds 25/30. Congratulations to Dylan!!

Riley Hughes-Gage won the Senior boys' category with a score of 25/30, and Lachlan DeVine came second with a score of 21/30. 

 

Taj Durrant shot 17/30, which placed him in 5th position. Congratulations, boys!

Nathan Naylor came 4th after a shoot-out for 3rd in the Junior boys' section with a score of 19/30.

Jack Van Helmond shot a 17/30 which placed him in 6th position. Congratulations boys.

What an exciting and successful competition from these very talen students from Lilydale High School. Looking forward to the next event.
