PAT CRONIN FOUNDATION

Violence is Never OK
Wednesday May 14
Year 9 students engaged in powerful conversations about ending violence and heard real and relatable stories from Pat Cronin Foundation presenter, Martine McKee.
The Pat Cronin Foundation was established by Matt and Robyn Cronin in memory of their 19-year-old son who died from a coward punch on a night out in Diamond Creek in 2016.
Martine shared Pat's story, which illustrated the worst possible outcome of social violence, and spoke to students about the choices we can make to end the coward punch and how we can create safe and kind communities. Students learned that violence is NEVER ok and we're taking a stand to end the coward punch.
During the presentation, Martine also shared her personal story to help educate the students about the dangers of substance use.
Thank you to Martine and the Pat Cronin Foundation for helping students explore ways to resolve conflict that can prevent a situation from escalating into violence.
