LOOK WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING AT LILYDALE HIGH SCHOOL

VCE

Survival Simulation

VCE Philosophy successfully completed a Survival Simulation over the last few lessons of Term 1. The aim was to explore the impact of collectives and social cohesion on the individual's capacity to live a good life.

What happened over the course of two hours was the formation of a flourishing society in Newer Zealand, where bowl cut haircuts became a source of communal pride. However, due to external sources, the society was not long for this world. Nonetheless, much merriment was had along the way.

Ian Tunufai (Year 12) and Jasper Barry (Year 11), were chosen to participate in the fitness tests.

Ian tested anaerobic power and capacity in the demanding 30 Second Wingate test, a rigorous exercise that evaluates short bursts of intense effort and highlights muscular strength.

Jasper focused on aerobic capacity and endurance in the extensive VO2 max test, which measures the maximum amount of oxygen an individual can utilise during intense exercise, providing insights into cardiovascular fitness.

Both students had amazing results, demonstrating not only their dedication to training but also their ability to excel in challenging physical situations.
