Boarding Life

A Taste of Boarding

Recently, the Boarding Houses invited the 2025–2026 Student Executive Leaders for “A Taste of Boarding.” Taking advantage of rooms recently vacated by our graduating Year 12s, our day friends spent an afternoon, evening, and morning experiencing life as a Boarder. The exercise was designed not only to share some of the fun of boarding life, but also to help increase understanding of what it truly means to 'live at school'.

Our guests enjoyed a sausage-sizzle dinner cooked by their peers, followed by ice creams, classic board games, and even a night of being reminded by supervisory staff to return to their rooms after lights out.... yes, the full boarding experience! Our junior boarders were also encouraged to invite some of their day friends into the House for afternoon tea, and it was lovely to see many accept the offer and spend time with us. We appreciate our day friends and their families, for the support they offer throughout the year, whether it be a home cooked meal or assistance with getting to and from sport.

To finish a wonderful year of boarding, we also enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner prepared by our talented and dedicated chefs, Emma and Megan. We were grateful to have Ms McCullah, Ms Crowe, Ms Pedavoli, Ms D’Angelo and Ms Kiosses-Motlop join us for the evening. Gratitude is also extended to the many boarding staff who made a special effort to join the fun event on their day off. Bon-bons, turkey, and almost too much dessert made for a relaxed and joyful night. Boarders also took this opportunity to write Christmas cards to our incoming 2026 Boarders and to reflect with gratitude on their own year.

As we come to the end of the year, we also bid farewell to several dedicated and much-loved staff members, including Jessica Parker, Sophie Tan, and Sophie Lilliecrapp. We congratulate them on completing their university commitments and wish them well as they embark on their next adventure.
