Cross Country – congratulations again to all of our Grade 3-6 students who participated in the District Schools Cross Country Day last Friday at Wesley Hill. You should all feel very proud of your effort and achievement. Well done to all students who qualified for the next round, the Division Cross Country Event, to be held on Friday 22nd May at Wesley Hill Recreation Reserve. Looking forward to supporting you on this day!
It has been a busy time in Health and PE this past week! Following our Grade 3-6 students’ wonderful participation and effort at the District School’s Cross Country event last week, we have had our Grade F-2 students attend the District School’s Tabloid Sports Day today at Wesley Hill Recreation Reserve. Students enjoyed playing a range of games alongside students from other schools run by Grade 6 leaders. Our Grade 6 students attended and engaged the junior student groups in two fun games – Fruit Salad and Tunnel Ball. They represented our school beautifully, showing amazing leadership skills. All students demonstrated great confidence and clarity in their delivery of instructions and gave such wonderful support and encouragement to the junior students engaged in the activities. Well done Grade F/1/2 on your fabulous participation and enthusiasm and thank you Grade 6’s!
This week our F/1 and 2/3 students enjoyed some tabloid sports games and activities. We have also commenced our focus on kicking skills. Our senior students are focusing on further developing their kicking skills and applying them in a soccer game context which they will enjoy next week. All classes will be jumping into skipping over the next few weeks – always great fun!
Our health focus this term on Social and Emotional Wellbeing is providing us with great opportunities for discussions around valuing the self and others and the importance of connection. The students are highly engaged in these discussions. Looking forward to further exploration of this topic over the remainder of the term.
