Mother's Day Prayer

To all our Mother's we pray to God for you!

Good and Gentle God, 

We pray in gratitude for our mothers and for all mother figures.

 Grant to all mothers the courage they need to face the uncertain future that life with children always brings. 

Give them the strength to live and to be loved in return, not perfectly, but humanly. 

Give them the faithful support of family and friends as they care for the physical and spiritual growth of their children. 

Give them joy and delight in their children to sustain them through the trials of motherhood.

 Give them the wisdom to turn to you for help when they need it most. 

May the Lord bless you and keep you, May His face shine upon you May the Lord be gracious to you and give you peace.

Mary's Month

May is a month full of celebrations and feasts.  The Church particularly honours Mary, the mother of Jesus in the month of May. We honour Mary for her response of "yes" to God's plan of goodness and peace for our world. The courage and strength that Mary showed in her life can serve as a model for all.  

Fr Aurelio visited the school on Thursday morning. He shared with the children about Mary and the prayer of the Rosary. He spoke of the Rosary as being like a "bead journey" of Jesus' life considered through the heart of Mary as she was so very close to her son. He showed the children a sample of a  crocheted rosary that could be used by soldiers to pray with since the beads wouldn't make any noise as they prayed. He also showed the children a very heavy set of rosaries made of crystal. The children had to search the library for hidden sets of rosary beads. We finished up together by praying one decade of the Rosary.
