Chaplaincy Book Fair

The Chaplaincy Book Fair is open to the public from noon next Friday May 22nd – through to 9pm that night, then open again from 9am Saturday morning, closing at noon Saturday May 23rd. Horsham College students volunteer to set-up the gigantic book shop on Thursday morning while local service club members, plus the Chaplaincy Committee, will pack up when the doors close on the massive sale at noon on Saturday.
Wastebusters are on board to take away any tattered materials while Rotary remove all unsold children’s books to go to needy kids. Absolutely groaning under the weight of thousands of pre-loved books, organisers - the Horsham College Chaplaincy Committee - hope that the trestle tables hold up in Maroske Hall which is located on the Dimboola Road campus of Horsham College.
The College Year 12 student leadership team will be helping to serve customers at the event where books are $1 each – CASH ONLY.
All funds raised go towards paying the salary of Horsham College chaplain, Yolande Grosser, who works Monday to Thursday at the school providing, amongst other things - a Brekky Hub, For Faith support group, pre-loved school uniforms and meals - with the help of Foodbank and the Wimmera Food Security Network – as well as one-on-one support for staff and students when needed. Always a wonderful community event, everyone is encouraged to come along and hunt out a bargain.
