AGTV German Poetry Competition – State Finals

Junior Competition

On Saturday, 22 August, the State Finals of the AGTV German Poetry Competition were held at the Austrian Club in Heidelberg. We are delighted to announce that Suhani B. achieved first place in the German as a Foreign Language category, while Jonas T. was awarded second place in the Open section.

Both students delivered outstanding and confident performances of their poems, impressing the judges with their excellent expression, pronunciation and reciting skills.

Congratulations to Suhani and Jonas on this wonderful achievement! We are incredibly proud of their dedication and success.

Senior Competition

Congratulations to Our German Poetry Competition Students!

Congratulations to Yichen, Xinchen and Jitho for representing Vermont Secondary College at the Goethe Senior German Poetry Competition held at Monash University in Week 7.

This competition provided students with an opportunity to showcase their German language skills through the interpretation and recitation of German poetry. All three students demonstrated excellent pronunciation, expression and confidence in their performances, representing VSC with great pride. Yichen performed “Hälfte des Lebens” by Friedrich Hölderlin, Xinchen performed “Ich hab dich so lieb” by Joachim Ringelnatz, and Jitho performed “Der Panther” by Rainer Maria Rilke. We would like to congratulate Xinchen, who achieved First Place in the Year 11 category, and Jitho, who received a special mention from the judge for his performance.

A wonderful achievement for all three students, and a fantastic opportunity to celebrate their commitment to German language and culture. We are very proud of their participation, dedication and success!
