Year 10 Enrichment Electives

A number of enrichment electives are available for our Year 10 students as Semester 1 subjects in 2027.  Please note these will be offered again for Semester 2 2027, with applications next year.  These are run by CHES, and applications must be supported by the college. Students will be expected to attend a number of seminar days on site at CHES, alongside weekly sessions that will run remotely outside of school hours.

These subjects are for enrichment, and in preparation for possible VCE subjects.  These include 3/4 Algorithmics or 3/4 Extended Investigation which can be taken in the final year at VSC. Or new Unit 1-4 offerings through CHES in Classical Studies, Philosophy and Environmental Science, which can also be taken as part of Year 11/12 subject load. Please note that English Language and Specialist maths cannot be taken through CHES at VCE level as these subjects are offered at VSC.  There is no allocated study block for these subjects, and students who participate are expected to maintain a high level of performance in their VSC subjects.
