Year 10 PE

Sports Performance Olympic Day

‘In the name of all competitors, we promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern them, committing ourselves to a sport without doping and without drugs, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honour of our teams’.

Students in the Year 10 PE Sports Performance class recited the Olympic oath before taking part in a variety of Olympic based events in class this week. The badminton serve, indoor shot put, standing long jump, trolley sprint, wall sit, basketball free throws, weighted bag sprint and equestrian event were all hotly contested. Students accumulated points based on the times and distances they scored in each event.

All athletes participated in the spirit of the oath with gold medals presented to students who won each individual event. Congratulations go to Darcy Harrison and Rahni Abbott who were our overall highest point scorers for the day.
