日本語 Japanese

Konnichiwa from Japanese class! I cannot believe this is the end of Term 1. We have packed activities throughout the term, from Foundation to Grade 6. I come to St Joseph's Primary School every Tuesday, once a week, and I probably enjoy it most to see those smiles and feel the joy in Japanese class. From Grades 3 to 6, we have been learning Hiragana letters this term and students have started to recognise the words in Hiragana. In the last lesson, students learned some ingredients and steps for making rice balls.

From Foundation to Grades 1 and 2, we watched a very famous Japanese folktale, おむすびころりん (Rice ball rolling), and made おにぎり ("Onigiri" rice balls). Hopefully, they will show you how to make those rice balls for your family one day.

In Foundation, Grades 1 and 2 lessons, we have been reading Japanese picture books this term, and we made だるまさん(Daruma san)last week, using body parts in Japanese. I love those creative artworks.
