Easter Crafts

This week, we enjoyed some fun Easter crafts as a lovely way to finish the term. Students created classic Easter baskets, decorated eggs with beautiful and creative designs, and even “adopted” a baby chick or bunny. They had so much fun giving their little animals names, birthdays, and unique personalities!

Term 1 Highlights From the F/1/2s

Miss Fraser - "My favourite part of this term was seeing everyone learn and try new things!"
Harry - "I liked presenting the Palm Sunday Liturgy to the school."
Charlee - "My favourite part of this term is how I am getting better at my reading because I am reading bigger books."
Ed - "I liked making the Easter crafts and I liked when I did some worded maths problems with Miss Fraser."
Jessica - "I loved learning new things everyday."
Coco - "I liked learning how to spell magic e words."

Literacy

This week we have been using adjectives to improve our sentence writing. Adjectives make our writing more fun and expressive!

We have also been spelling words, adding the suffix -ing. Adding -ing to a word changes the meaning of the word. With -ing, it means it is happening now! sing - singing, walk - walking, stomp - stomping.

Maths

This week we have learning to partition numbers (break it down into smaller parts). We have been practicing this skill using tens frames.

We have also been extending our learning into worded problems! We have been completing two and even three-step maths problems that focus on adding and subtracting two-digit numbers.

Inquiry

This week, we have begun designing our emotion characters that we will continue into next term. Each student needed to draw a character that they will be creating using recycled materials. Their character will face some emotional/social problems, and the students will support them using the knowledge they have gained from PBL and Respectful Relationships this term.

If you have any spare boxes at home, please save them for us to use early next term!

Religion - Holy Week

During Holy Week, our class joined with the Foundation students to present the Palm Sunday Liturgy to the whole school. We are so proud of all students for their reverence and participation. A special well done to those who confidently took on reading roles, and to everyone who helped bring the story to life by welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem with palm branches.

A big thank you to Mr Foley for planning this!
