Term 1 Has Come To An End
As Term 1 comes to a close, I want to extend my congratulations to all our students and staff for such a fantastic start to the 2026 school year. From where I stand, it’s certainly felt like a busy and action-packed term, but everyone I’ve spoken to agrees that it’s been incredibly successful and a lot of fun! Looking ahead to Term 2, excitement is already building, especially among the students and staff, as we’re in the midst of planning their 2026 camp. Fun times are ahead!
A Shout Out
A shout out to Hub Leader Julie Raciti who recently had the pleasure of representing our school at the PreventX Conference (hosted by Safe and Equal); presenting with the team from WHISE. PreventX is a national conference focused on the prevention of family and gender-based violence, bringing together educators, community organisations, and leaders who are working together to build safer, more respectful communities.
At the conference, Julie and Malavika Kadwadkar spoke about our school community, our Hub, and the important work we are doing with students and families to promote respectful relationships. This includes helping students develop the skills to build positive, safe, and respectful connections with others, as well as working in partnership with families to strengthen shared understanding of respectful relationships and wellbeing.
This work is an important part of our commitment to early intervention and prevention. By supporting children to understand respect, empathy, and equality from a young age, we are helping to lay the foundations for safer relationships in the future.
Our involvement in PreventX highlights the strong role schools play in supporting families and communities to prevent harm before it occurs, and reinforces our ongoing commitment to wellbeing, safety, and respectful relationships for all students.
Congratulations Julie on the work you do in this space! We are very proud of you!
Keep smiling,
Debbie Cottier
