Year 8 MasterChef Elective 

Our Year 8 MasterChef students have been working hard to develop their design, production and presentation skills in the kitchen this term. 

Students put their creativity to the test during a Plating Up Challenge, where they prepared pancakes and then demonstrated their artistic flair by creating a fun and appealing design suitable for a café setting. Students had to consider presentation, creativity and how their dish would look to a customer. 

Students then put their design hats on for their CAT assessment, a Mexican themed Mystery Box Challenge! Working from a set list of ingredients, students were challenged to design and create their own Mexican inspired dish. They had to use their knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation to turn the mystery ingredients into a delicious final product. 

It has been fantastic to see students developing their confidence, creativity and practical kitchen skills while having fun along the way!
