Learning and Teaching

Minecraft Education

Safe, immersive and joyful learning. Minecraft Education empowers learners with the skills they need to thrive in the AI era. Our Year 4 students have transformed their learning from maps on paper and on their laptops into a space for innovation and future-ready learning.

Their geography skills and knowledge have been put to the test in a Minecraft Melbourne world. Students needed to locate landmarks and use NPCs (non player characters) to name the them.

In geography we are learning about landmarks in Australia and, in minecraft we are using a program. With that program we are using NPC to mark the places we will go to when we go to camp. - Abigail 4 Orange

Our Year 5s will begin using Minecraft Education this week to establish their design learning. After learning about materials, skyscrapers and bridges the students will explore how to put transfer that knowledge and compare materials that are more sustainable and cost effective. They will be working towards designing a 'green city' in pairs / small groups.
