Music

We are beginning preparations for a very busy Term 3 in music! Choir, Rock Band and Marimba Group are rehearsing their items for the Spring Concert. Classes have been enjoying bucket drumming, xylophones and recorder playing. Playing instruments as a whole class gives students the opportunity to hone many skills - discipline, auditory processing skills, team work, gross and fine motor skills, and focusing on their own part while hearing multiple other parts simultaneously. 

Later this Term, Grades 2, 3 and 4 will be going on excursions to the TSO and the MacKillop College Musical. We will also be welcoming Musica Viva musicians to our school when they visit to present their concert “Life is an Echo”. Students have been eagerly participating in the preparation material for this concert, as it will be an interactive experience designed to introduce students to instruments from the East Asia region.
