This year, we are excited to immerse our Year 10 students in the World of Careers through a series of engaging presentations following our Careers Expo on Friday, 1st of May during periods 4 (1.00pm – 1.50pm) & 5 (2.00pm – 3.00pm).

Our students have recently been surveyed about their career interests, and their responses covered almost every profession imaginable! To help bring these aspirations to life, we warmly invite parents, guardians, and supporters of the College to visit and present a short presentation or alternatively contribute a short video presentation showcasing your career journey.

Your presentation might include:

  • Your personal career pathway and how you arrived in your current role
  • Career opportunities within your organisation or broader industry
  • Key challenges or emerging trends shaping your field
  • Internship, graduate, or work experience opportunities
  • Advice for students considering a career in your industry

Please feel free to be as creative as you like - demonstrations, virtual workplace tours, or “day in the life” insights are all greatly appreciated. If you would like to present onsite, we can allocate a time for you once you have responded.

If you can contribute, please confirm your interest by email to Shelley Halverson at halvs@staff.mta.qld.edu.au. Please nominate if you would like to present onsite or if you would prefer to supply a presentation recording.

By participating in this important initiative, you will:

  • Provide meaningful guidance to young people exploring their future pathways
  • Showcase your organisation to our school community through social media, our newsletter, and the Yearbook
  • Strengthen connections between industry and education within our local community
  •

Thank you for considering this opportunity to inspire the next generation of professionals. We look forward to partnering with you to make this event a valuable and memorable experience for our students.

Warm regards,
