Literacy

This term, students have been enjoying reading the novel Yirra and Her Deadly Dog, Demon and exploring important themes connected to Aboriginal history and culture. As part of our literacy learning, students have been developing their note-taking skills by gathering key information from classroom slides and discussions. They have then used these notes to create a factual recount about significant events and experiences in Aboriginal history. It has been wonderful to see students building their understanding while strengthening their reading and writing skills. 

SpellEx

Students have been continuing to develop their spelling knowledge through the Spellex program as part of our literacy lessons. Throughout the week, students practise learning new spelling patterns, sounds, and high-frequency words through engaging and structured activities. The program helps students build confidence in reading and writing while strengthening their understanding of how words are formed and used.
