District Cross Country
Last Tuesday, 14 Year 4 students attended our District Cross Country at Quambie Reserve. It was a challenging course, with steep hills and many competitors. All students represented YRPS in such a positive way, showing encouragement to each other and showing respect to other schools.

Open Evening
Last Wednesday, we held an open afternoon, welcoming our parents and familieis into our classrooms. Students choose 3 pieces of work that they are proud of to leave on their table. It was lovely to chat with parents and grandparents as they visited our school.

Maths
In Maths, we having been focusing on area and perimeter. Students have used trundle wheels to measure the perimeter of garden beds within the school and have used rulers to measure objects around the classroom. Students were introduced to area and used unifix blocks to measure the space. We then gave students a fun project to complete: Design a YRPS Play Centre. They were given specific amounts to replicate on their grid paper and their creativity and math skills have been fantastic!
