BRAIN OLYMPIA

Huge congratulations to our Brain Olympia team for the way they represented our school at the Diocesan Finals in Gunnedah on Wednesday. They have spent many a recess and lunch time rehearsing, refining their skills and coming together as a team in preparation for the day.  It was an added bonus and very well deserved to see them come away as Small Schools Champions for the Armidale Catholic Schools. Congratulations to Preston, Chastity, Ava-Jane, Grace, Ben, Arley, Archie and Lucas!

I have included a small number of the 50 quiz questions below, just for fun! See how you can match it against the brains of our young people! Remember... no cheating!

  • What is Pope Leo XIV's real name?
  • What literary device is used in the saying, 'It's raining cats and dogs"?
  • Who wrote The Gruffalo?
  • What is the scientific name for the northern lights?
  • What is the largest (in amount) export product of Australia?
  • In which country will you find Mount Fuji?
  • What classification of rock is formed through the process of the cooling and solidification of molten rock?
  • A magnifying glass makes objects appear larger... which property of light is primarily responsible for this effect?
  • Which iconic landmark in Paris was damaged by a fire in 2019?
  • What is the name of the current Wallabies Rugby Union player who shares a name with a famous JK Rowling book character?

Some photos of rehearsals in front of the whole school!

BORROWING DAYS

Of course, the library is open every lunch time and students can return and borrow books at that time.

Happy reading!
