Here is what's happening in Sports!
On Tuesday, students from Years 7, 8 and 12, along with around 20 students from Years 9 and 10, attended the Westall House Swimming Competition at Noble Park Aquatic Centre.
Students made their own way to the pool, continuing a long-standing Westall tradition. For many, it was a small adventure travelling to the venue with friends before arriving ready for the day’s events. Students were highly organised and many proudly wore their House colours, creating a vibrant and colourful atmosphere around the pool.
The purpose of the carnival is simple — to enjoy the day with friends and teachers while participating in swimming and House competition. This year we introduced several engaging activities including:
- Splash and Dash
- 25m races in the shallow end
- Novelty events
- 50m races
The 50m races were run slightly differently this year, with the pontoon remaining stationary. This allowed swimmers to swim up 25m and back 25m, which made the event smoother and easier to manage for competitors.
After a great day of participation and House spirit, the final results were:
🥇 1st – Patterson 1005
🥈 2nd – Lawson 712
🥉 3rd – Gordon 551
4th – Dennis 440
A big thank you to all the teachers and staff who helped organise and run the event. Your effort helped make the day enjoyable and successful for everyone involved.
To encourage student feedback, I have created a short feedback survey. Students are encouraged to share their thoughts about the carnival so we can continue to improve the event in future years.
