F/1/2 CLASSROOM

We have had a very busy and productive few weeks in our F/1/2 classroom, with so much wonderful learning and growth happening across all areas.
A big focus for us has been Project Compassion and kindness. We have been having lots of conversations about what kindness looks like and sounds like, and it has been so lovely to see students putting this into action each day. Whether it’s helping a friend, including others in play, or using kind words, our classroom has been filled with these positive moments.
In literacy, our Foundation students have been learning new letters and sounds and are now beginning to read some simple words, which has been so exciting to see. They are showing growing confidence each day. Our Grade 1 students have been learning about compound words and nouns and are starting to notice these in their reading and writing. Our Grade 2 students have been building their understanding of nouns and pronouns, and have been working hard on making and checking predictions during comprehension and fluency activities.
In Religion, all students have been learning about Lent and the lead up to Easter. We have been exploring how this is a time for reflection, kindness, and helping others, and students have made some great connections between this and our Project Compassion focus.
It has been such a positive term in our classroom. I am so proud of the way students have settled into routines, shown care for their learning, and supported one another. The growth in confidence, independence, and willingness to give things a go has been fantastic to see.
We are really looking forward to our final week of Term 1 and finishing the term off strong together.
