Learning
and Teaching

Last Monday, our staff had the wonderful opportunity to join with two neighbouring schools for a Teach Well professional learning session. It was a valuable experience that brought together both teachers and Education Support Officers, ensuring we all heard the same clear and consistent message around teaching, routines, and behaviour responses across our school.
This opportunity was made possible through the partnership between School Plus, Westpac, and Catholic Education Sandhurst, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have been one of the schools selected to participate.
Throughout the day, we gained powerful insights into the importance of a low-variance curriculum and how consistent classroom routines enable students to access their learning without interruption. The alignment of practice across classrooms is key to supporting all learners to succeed, and this training has strengthened our shared understanding and approach.
One of the highlights of the day was certainly the carpool journey home, where staff shared reflections, ideas, and plenty of laughs. It was a great reminder of the strength of our team and the positive culture we continue to build together.
A great team, a great day, and a great step forward in our learning journey!

EXPECTATION SPOTLIGHT
Week 9 & Week 10: ‘We support our peers’
As part of our whole-school approach to creating calm and supportive learning environments, we have been focusing on our Expectation Spotlight: Care for Others – “We support our peers.”
This expectation encourages students to look out for one another and help create a classroom where everyone feels safe, included and ready to learn. In the classroom, this can be seen through simple but important actions such as using kind and encouraging words, including others in games and group work, listening respectfully, and helping others when they are stuck.
We also talk with students about celebrating each other’s successes and standing up for others when something isn’t right. By building these habits, we are supporting students to develop respectful relationships and a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
