Principals Message

Dear families,
Thank you to all members of our community for your understanding and flexibility as we navigate the introduction of our new routines, including changes to departure procedures and the increased security of our school grounds. As shared in my recent communications, change can sometimes bring a few road bumps, and we genuinely value your feedback as we continue to refine these processes together.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our staff for their support and willingness to go the extra mile in my absence this week. It is truly a privilege to work alongside such competent and capable colleagues who consistently demonstrate professionalism and care for our students and community.
I have had the opportunity to attend a conference this week, which has provided many valuable insights to support strong leadership and high-quality practice within our school. Highlights have included presentations from Dr Preeya Alexander, focusing on supporting student health and wellbeing; Dr Justin Coulson, sharing expertise on building strong relationships with families, communities, and students; and Dr Raymond Friel OBE, who spoke beautifully about embedding Catholic values in all that we do. We also heard from Dr Yemi Penn on cultural peace brokering, offering powerful perspectives on connection and understanding.
The conference has been expertly led by Adam Spencer, whose engaging style has added energy and inspiration to each day. I have also had the pleasure of reconnecting with our friend Gen Bryant, who has led us in meaningful Mass and prayer experiences. I am hopeful we may welcome her back to St Mary’s Rushworth in the future.
I look forward to returning on Monday and bringing this rich learning back to our school community as we continue to grow together.
