Dear St Francis Xavier's Parents and Carers,

A jam packed Term ahead…and here are a few highlights…keep your eyes peeled and your calendars open!

Our School Captains

Victory in the Pacific and Vietnam Veterans Day was commemorated on Saturday morning at the RSL. Our school captains -Stella Craig and Weston Burgmann, proudly represented our school. Our captains delivered a short narrative on the theme of the participation and sacrifices made by Australian Service personnel in the Victory in the Pacific.

Thank you Stella and Weston for giving up your morning to represent our school and be a part of such an important community event.

Confirmation

Our students in Stage 3 joined others from the Narrabri Public School schools to be a part of an important faith milestone - Confirmation. Bishop Murphy was very impressed with how well our students were prepared by staff and the beautiful service on Sunday morning. Many thanks to families and sponsors for supporting our students, and a big thank you to Mrs McInnes, Mrs Conroy, Mrs Quirk, Mr Rottger, Miss Gourley, Mrs Leitch and Mrs Craig for all their time and efforts in the lead up.

School Fundraising Events

Our Parents & Friends Association have organised a fantastic event for this coming Friday - Daddy & Me Hair School! The proceeds from this event are going towards school tents for sporting events and musical instruments for our students. Come along…support our school…and have some fun at a truly unique event!

Our committee has also organised another community event for all our families…MOVIE NIGHT! Keep your eyes peeled for details. This evening is always well attended and there is something for everyone.

Our Year 6 parents have been working hard to raise money for their children’s excursion. Thank you to our two major fundraising groups who have organised the BBQ at the Athletics Carnival and Thermomix Raffle. All contributions will go towards reducing the costs for every student.

School Satisfaction Survey

An annual satisfaction survey of parents, students and staff will be conducted on behalf of all Catholic schools in the Diocese this term. The surveys are designed to gather feedback about our school and will be used to inform school improvement. Responses are confidential, and individuals can not be identified. The surveys will be launched via email on Monday, 23rd August 2026 using the email addresses supplied to the school.  We will also share a link through Compass in case you don't receive the original email.

Reminder: Dance Extravaganza

Aleeta and Miss Lauren are set to return in Week 6 and 7 to help deliver the dance curriculum component of PDHPE. Teachers will send home costume notes after these visits, invites will also go out to our school community with performance time and date.

MAD Night at Narrabri High School

Ms Rosemary Smith is at it again! Our school band will be performing at the Narrabri High School M.A.D Night on Thursday night. It’s always an exciting and entertaining evening, but even more so when we know the performers! Come along and enjoy an evening of Music/Art/Drama (MAD)...doors open at 6:30pm.

Book Week Parade

Thank you to all our families for being a part of a fun day of dress ups and celebrating books. It was great to see so many creative costumes accompanied by BIG smiles and dancing. It’s also wonderful to have our school community join us to share a meal and have lunch on the lawn. Well done to Mrs Capp on championing the importance of books and reading for our students.
