Year 11 News

GAT – Tuesday 16th June

All students completing Unit 3 and 4 studies this year will sit the General Achievement Test (GAT) on Tuesday 16th June. The GAT is an important part of the VCE assessment process and helps ensure fair and accurate results for all students.

The GAT will consist of two parts. Section A: Literacy and Numeracy will run from 9:00am until 11:15am and Section B: General Knowledge and Skills will run from 1:15pm until 3:00pm.

We encourage all students to get a good night’s sleep beforehand and approach the day with confidence.

English SAC - Tuesday 23rd June

Students are currently preparing for their upcoming English SAC on The Memory Police. The SAC will be held on Tuesday the 23rd of June, periods 1/2 in the Hall on Dimboola Road. Students should walk to the venue via the back path and arrive promptly to begin at 9am.

The assessment will include 5 minutes of reading time and 70 minutes of writing time. This SAC is designed to help students develop the analytical and writing skills required for success in the end-of-year English examination.

As we approach the end of term, families are reminded that this is a particularly busy period, with a number of important assessments scheduled across subjects. Students are encouraged to plan ahead and maintain consistent study habits to support their preparation.

Careers Expo – Tuesday 23rd June (following English SAC)

Students from Years 10-12 will attend the Careers Expo at Longerenong where they will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of post-school pathways, including university courses, TAFE programs, apprenticeships, traineeships and other employment opportunities.

The expo is a valuable chance for students to speak directly with representatives from education providers and industry organisations, ask questions and gather information to help plan their future careers and study options.

We encourage students to make the most of this opportunity by coming prepared with questions and an open mind about the many pathways available after school.
