Open Night 2024

Defying the gloomy forecast, the 2024 Open Night unfolded under glorious sunshine. With a turnout of 157 families, our campus came alive as guests immersed themselves in an evening of exploration and delight. Led by our enthusiastic students, prospective families embarked on a captivating tour of our campus, exploring everything we offer. From the bustling stalls of the Senior School to the electrifying science presentation on electricity in Junior School, there was something to captivate every curious mind. Under the clear, autumn sunset skies, musical performances filled the air with melodious tunes, adding an extra layer of magic to the evening. And what's an event without a barbecued snag? Guests indulged while marveling at our top-notch Sports facilities.

None of this would have been possible without the meticulous planning and dedication of our Year 7 Transition Coordinator, Paul Annakis, and his team of staff. Their efforts ensured that our Open Night was smooth, interactive and memorable.

The real measure of success lies in the feedback from our guests, and we're thrilled to share some of the glowing reviews we've received:

As a secondary teacher myself, I was extremely impressed with the Open Day. The principal's address was very clear and concise, giving us a great picture of the school and its values. Student leader, Jamie (I think), was excellent. We live outside of the catchment, so I hope that we can get our three children places at DSC.

Principals address was so confident and informative. Transition program looks amazing.

This year you've nailed it! The evening was very informative, relaxed, and moved along at the right pace with plenty of opportunities to interact with staff, ask questions, and look at the facilities and the information on display. Loved the sausages and the yummy cookies! Well done and thank you DSC! We were very impressed :-)

Constructive feedback is equally valued, and we're committed to using it to continually enhance our Open Night format, ensuring it remains an enriching experience for all.

Thank you to all teachers, staff and students involved in delivering a fantastic Open Night to our community.

We would also like to thank student Xin N., Year 10 for attending the entire night to take photos of the evening. Many of her photos are featured below.

Students, you are our greatest ambassadors, and your contribution to our school community is admired and appreciated. Thank you for making our school such a wonderful place to learn.
