Wild At Art Competition 2026 - Entries now open!
Do you love drawing, painting or creating? Are you passionate about Australia's endangered species? The Australian Conservation Foundation's Wild At Art Competition is now open, giving students aged 5–12 the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents while learning about Australia's threatened wildlife.
Students are invited to create an original artwork featuring a threatened Australian animal or plant and write a short reflection explaining why they chose their species. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine creativity with environmental awareness and help raise awareness about species that need our protection.
Students might choose a threatened Victorian species such as the Leadbeater's Possum, Helmeted Honeyeater, Eastern Barred Bandicoot or Matted Flax-lily. Previous winning entries have ranged from highly detailed paintings to colourful, imaginative artworks created by younger students. Judges look for creativity, effort and a connection to the chosen species—not just artistic skill—so everyone is encouraged to have a go!
Students wishing to enter should submit their artwork and written reflection to Wild At Art by 10th August 2026, allowing time for entries to be reviewed and submitted before the official competition closing date. If there is any issues with submission please reach out to Mrs Weiss at sarah.weiss@education.vic.gov.au before August 10th and we can submit it for you.
Once submitted, please hand in your artwork to Mrs Weiss so it can be displayed at school. We look forward to seeing our students' amazing creativity on display while celebrating Australia's unique wildlife.
