Congratulations to the grade six students on an excellent semester! They should all be very proud of their hard work, determination, and growth they have shown throughout the first half of the year. It has been wonderful to see the effort they have put into their learning, their willingness to challenge themselves, and the way they have supported one another. You have earned a well-deserved break, and I hope they enjoy some time to relax, have fun, and recharge. Well done on a fantastic semester!
Mathematics
This term, the Grade 6 students have demonstrated excellent growth in their mathematical understanding and confidence. Through their work with decimals, patterns, probability, time and 3D shapes, students have strengthened their problem-solving skills, developed their mathematical reasoning, and become more confident in explaining their thinking. It has been pleasing to see students persist through challenges, apply their learning to new situations, and take increasing ownership of their mathematical success.
Literacy
We have come to the end of our novel study, Can You See Me, and students have thoroughly enjoyed following the story and discussing the characters' experiences. The novel has provided many opportunities for thoughtful conversations about empathy, understanding, and inclusion.
What else is happening:
Memory Books
Just another reminder to students to bring their memory books. As outlined in the recent Sentral notice, Grade 6 students will begin creating a memory book next semester to celebrate their primary school years. Students need their memory books for term 3. Please refer to the Sentral communication for information and recommendations regarding what books are suitable.
Bronze Awards
Well done to our latest Bronze Award recipients. Braxton M, Tyler L, Hudson and Izabel R!
