Acting Principal's Message

2026 NAPLAN Results
We celebrate a group of students who demonstrated strong achievement and learning growth in the 2026 NAPLAN assessments. Behind every result are many moments of effort, persistence, feedback and improvement. All our students should be proud of the way they approached their learning and the progress they have made.
Congratulations to our students and to the teachers and families supporting them along the way.
Parents and carers of students in Year 3 and Year 5 who completed NAPLAN will receive their child’s individual report this week in the mail.
The report provides information about your child’s achievement in Reading, Writing, Spelling, Numeracy and Conventions of Language (Grammar and Punctuation). It should be considered alongside classroom learning, teacher assessment and the progress your child demonstrates throughout the year.
Information about understanding your child’s report is available through the NAPLAN website via www.nap.edu.au
Please contact your child’s classroom teacher or speak with them at 3 Way Chats with any questions about their results or ongoing learning.
Offsite Emergency Evacuation Drill Success
A huge congratulations to all of our students for their sensational efforts during this week's whole-school emergency evacuation drill to the Civic Centre lawn area.
Our students demonstrated exactly what we hope to see in an emergency; remaining cool, calm and focused while following staff instructions promptly and safely. Thanks to everyone's outstanding cooperation, we successfully evacuated the school of students in 3 minutes and 55 seconds and completed a full sweep of the buildings for "casualties" in an impressive 6 minutes and 15 seconds. A total evacuation of 8 minutes and 10 seconds.
Regular emergency drills are an important part of keeping our school community safe, ensuring that everyone knows what to do should a real emergency ever occur. We are incredibly proud of the maturity, responsibility and teamwork shown by every student.
Well done, you are absolute superstars!
2026 and 2027 Enrolment Opportunities Open Across all Year Levels
Due to a small number of families recently relocating interstate, a limited number of enrolment places have become available for both 2026 and 2027 across all year levels.
If you know a family looking for an outstanding primary school, we would greatly appreciate you sharing this opportunity with them. We warmly invite prospective families to discover all that St. Joseph's School, Cobram has to offer and experience our welcoming Catholic learning community.
To arrange a personalised school tour, please contact our school office. We would be delighted to show you how St. Joseph's nurtures every child's faith, learning and wellbeing, empowering them to flourish both academically and personally.
Positive School Attendance
Every Day Counts – Together We Help Children Flourish
At St. Joseph's, we believe every school day is an opportunity for children to learn, grow, make friends and strengthen their confidence.
Did you know that missing just one day of school each fortnight adds up to around four weeks of learning across the school year? Even small absences can make it harder for children to keep up with learning, build friendships and develop positive routines.
Regular attendance supports:
- Strong academic growth
- Positive friendships and belonging
- Confidence and resilience
Healthy routines for lifelong success
As partners in your child's education, we thank families for making school attendance a priority whenever possible.
Attendance Tip: Lay out uniforms, pack school bags and prepare lunches the night before to help create calm morning routines.
