What a wonderful week of celebrations we have had here at St George’s Anglican Grammar School as we have farewelled our Year 12s of the Class of 2023 and warmly welcomed our Year 11s as they take over the mantle of leadership as the Year 12s of the Class of 2024. It has been a week of sunshine, smiles, laughter, hugs and even a few tears – tears of joy and tears of sadness.
Our Year 12s have given so much of themselves to the School and I thank them sincerely for their many wonderful contributions. I wish them good luck for their future and for a fulfilling life beyond the red blazers that have defined them for so long. To our APEx students – enjoy your newfound freedoms and be sure to always live life well with our values of Wisdom, Grace and Service in your hearts and hold these values as the compass to guide you in the next chapter of your lives. To our ATAR students, get back into study routines quickly beyond what has been the ‘Festival of Year 12’ over these last few days, commit yourself to working hard and giving of your best to ensure that you showcase your knowledge and talents as your exam timetable begins. Remember, your teachers are still here to support you should you need them. We are confident that you will go well, and we hope to see many of you on results day here at School to celebrate your successes with us.
Our 2024 Student Leaders are an amazing and diverse group of impressive go-getters. They are a vital component to the continued growth and development of the School as they assist in leading, fostering and nurturing our School Community. They will be supported by the whole of the Year 12 2024 cohort.
We are absolutely thrilled to introduce our outstanding Student Leadership Team for 2024.

These remarkable individuals have been elected to their leadership roles because of their unwavering commitment to our School, their deep-rooted sense of social justice, kindness and compassion and their passion for wanting to give back to the school that they love alongside their aspirations to leave a lasting legacy, just as those who have gone before them have done.
They have been charged to be authentic in their leadership as, in the words of Brene Brown, ‘authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we are supposed to be and embracing who we are’. I have encouraged them to be ‘positive disruptors’ and courageous in their leadership – to call things out and to challenge the status quo for the greater good. And finally, they have been asked to find opportunities in their leadership to be of service to others and to listen to both the loudest of voices and the more hesitant ones as they commence their leadership portfolios. It is an exciting time for them all.
I am very confident that they will lead a range of new initiatives and ideas and demonstrate through their actions just what can be achieved through creativity, passion and engagement.

Our School is absolutely in safe hands, and the Class of 2023 can leave knowing that the legacy that they leave behind will be cared for, cherished and built upon by the Class of 2024.
I look forward to working alongside all members of the Class of 2024 as they work together as a team to create their indelible mark on our wonderful School.
God Bless.
