Events and Reminders

What an amazing start we have had to Term Four, culminating in Wednesday night’s Valedictory celebration where we farewelled our Year 12 students with pomp and ceremony.

BLAZERS

It has been wonderful to see our students return to school, resplendent in their summer uniforms. Last week at our Whole School Eucharist at the commencement of the term, I suggested to students that they should consider leaving their blazers in their lockers, now that they aren’t required to wear them to and from school each day during this term. As all students still require their blazer each Monday for Chapel or Assembly, this will alleviate the need to remember to grab it on a chaotic Monday morning.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

The school has just received delivery of school photos from 3P Photography, and these will be distributed to students early next week. Please keep a look out for these in student’s bags. If there are any issues with your order or your child did not receive it in PCG, please contact 3P directly at hello@3p.net.au.

SCHOOL BAGS

Finally, I would like to remind all students about bag etiquette at St George’s. School bags are required to be kept in lockers throughout the school day, from PCG to Period 6. If students need a bag to transport their learning resources, then a small tote bag is acceptable for this purpose. Recently we have had an increase in many students wanting to take their bags with them to CQU, especially for Period 6 in order to avoid having to return to the main building. This is not an acceptable practice and presents a significant occupational health and safety issue with there being no capacity for school bag storage at that site. In extenuating circumstances, students can request a bag pass. Outside of that, it is important that all students adhere to our policy in regard to school bag use.
