ART EXCURSION - YEAR 11 & 12
Our Year 11 and 12 Art students recently enjoyed an inspiring excursion to the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery and the Point Leo Estate Sculpture Garden.
Throughout the day, students explored a diverse range of contemporary artworks and gained valuable insight into the professional practices involved in exhibiting, caring for and conserving art. The visit provided an opportunity to see how galleries present artworks to the public and the important work that happens behind the scenes to preserve artistic collections.
The outdoor sculpture park offered a unique experience, allowing students to engage with large-scale artworks in a natural landscape setting. This excursion was a wonderful opportunity to connect classroom learning with the wider world of galleries, exhibitions and contemporary art practice.
YEAR 7
This week in Art, Year 7 students have been experimenting with the medium of Sculpture and have been using the theme of Animals as their subject matter. Pictured are some trials of animals the students made with plasticine, these trials were a practice session for our upcoming work with Modrock Plaster. The arts team look forward to seeing the final pieces our Year 7 students create.
