Mater Dei's Got Talent

Today we had a fantastic selection of talent at our annual Mater Dei’s Got Talent. From Shaun the Sheep, to Michael Jackson, One Direction and Guess that Teacher, it was a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment and (almost) talent! Thanks to Mrs Brennan, Campbell Brown, Zahra Hunt and Mr Ellis for being the judges. Mr Ellis did a wonderful job of stepping in for Simon Cowell who was unfortunately unable to make it. Well done to Carlos Wang who was awarded the Winner’s title for 2026, and also to Name that Teacher for runners up and Matchbox 2 third place.

Congratulations to all those who participated in Mater Dei’s Got Talent, you all contributed to a wonderful community event..

Student Leadership 2027

Over the past few weeks we have been finalising the process to select our 2027 student leaders.  It has been so encouraging to see 33 young people put forward an application and sit an interview process with the College Leadership team and House Leaders.  

The application interview process was completed in Week 6, and then speeches and voting will take place in Week 7. 

Regardless of who wears a badge in Year 12 2027, we know that the College will benefit from the energy, ideas and exceptional leadership qualities of this year group. 

Congratulations to all those who took the opportunity to apply for this experience, We look forward to watching your leadership skills grow over the next 12 months.

Mater Dei Spring Carnival

Spring is in the air! It’s that time again for our annual Mater Dei Spring Carnival which will be held next Friday 4 September. We would love for everyone to get around faux fashions and enjoy spending the day together with some fun activities including the annual faux fashion parade and Year 12 Spring Carnival horse races.

So what does Faux Fashion look like? It could be your grandfather's sunday best, race day outfits like old fashioned dresses and suits, wearing a shirt inside out or as simple as wearing two different shoes. Please be reminded that the Spring Carnival is not about spending a lot of money on dress ups, so recycle old clothing from home, or if you do need to buy an item for Faux Fashions, try St Vincent de Paul or support other charity shops.
