During the school holidays, Emily (Year10), represented St Augustine's College at the Victorian Equestrian Interschools State Championships.

Competing in the senior section, Emily performed exceptionally well against strong competition, with only the top four riders qualifying for the National Championships. We are delighted that Emily, riding Roseden Class Act (Brando), has once again secured her place and will represent Victoria this September.

Well done Emily, we are incredibly proud of your dedication and outstanding achievement.

Campaspe Division Cross Country

Primary

Last Friday, 39 students participated in the Years 4–6 Campaspe Cross Country. It was a wonderful day filled with competitiveness, determination and excellent sportsmanship.

We are proud to share that four of our students qualified for the next event in St Arnaud. Congratulations to Finn, who placed 2nd, Huxley, who placed 5th, Layla, who placed 4th, and Katie, who placed 10th in their age divisions.

A special mention also goes to three of our students who stopped during their race to assist an injured student from another school. Their kindness and sportsmanship truly reflected our College values.

Congratulations to all the students on a fantastic day.

Soccer

Campaspe Division

Recently our Years 5/6 and 9-12 students participated in Campaspe Soccer Tournaments across two days of competition.  It was wonderful to see both the boys' and girls' teams displaying excellent sportsmanship throughout the tournaments, playing with enthusiasm, determination and teamwork while having fun along the way.

Congratulations to the Years 5/6 Boys team who were B Division winners, bringing home the trophy, while our Senior Boys team successfully progressed through to the next stage of competition.

Thank you to our staff for their support, coaching and encouragement across both events.

The Senior Boys started off dominating the play against St Joe's, but couldn’t capitalise on their chances, coming away with a 0-0 draw.

Their second match was against Echuca College and the boys needed to win 5-0 to progress through to the next stage. After a tight tussle early on, they managed to win comfortably 7-0 and will now play in the Loddon Mallee Region championships. Congratulations!

The Intermediate Girls commenced their first game against St Joe's. After a challenging first half, they adapted well and proved intensity and communication is vital. The girls fought hard, but unfortunately couldn’t make up for the lost time.

Facing tough circumstances of back-to-back games, the girls maintained incredible stamina in their second game, leading 2-0 at half time. However, three quick goals from Rochester proved how quickly things can change, with the girls going down in the end.

Overall it was a fantastic team effort with Sienna W and Ella A being the goal scorers and showing strong form on the day.

The Intermediate Boys started off like a house on fire, piling on the goals in a 7-0 triumph over Echuca College. Damien B was the main man upfront, putting five past the Echuca defence. Jonty S and Clay W also got their names on the score sheet, chipping in with one a piece. However, the tables were turned in the next game, when St Joseph’s College gave us a bit of a reality check. They put six goals past us and our boys were unable to trouble the keeper.

In their last game, the boys had a tight tussle with Rochester. In a game of many chances for both teams, it was Rochy who were on the right side of the contest, winning 2-1.

Toby M did the damage on the scoresheet with stand out performances from Riley N, Thomas B and Noah G throughout the day noted from the coaches box.

All teams were awesome and represented the College in a positive and respectful manner!  Well done.

Loddon Mallee Region Senior Boys

On Monday 18th May, the senior boys soccer team travelled to Bendigo to compete in the Loddon Mallee Region Soccer Finals for a chance to make it to State Finals. A wet and chilly day was not ideal and they were up against a well-drilled opposition in BSSE first. Despite giving their best, the boys were down 0-2 at the half and then 0-6 at full time. St Josephs Mildura were up next, and the boys had their chances but couldn’t convert and went down 0-4. St Mary’s Swan Hill was our last match of the day, and the boys made a good start, going 1-0 up within the first minute of the game. They continued to out-play the opposition and finished the day with a 6-1 win.

Football

Campaspe Division Senior Boys

On Tuesday 5th May, the Senior Boys Football team travelled to Rochester to compete against other schools in the Campaspe District. The team were short on numbers after a few injuries from weekend football, but the team remained optimistic. They had Rochester first up but after a promising and competitive start, Rochester ran away with the match. Echuca College were up next and the boys proved too strong to win comfortably. Our last game for the day was against St Josephs. The boys gave their all but were outclassed by their opposition. Well done to all the boys who represented the school, it was tough with only 14 players, but they never gave up trying.
