As we move through another busy and successful term at St Augustine’s College, it has been wonderful to see the continued growth, achievement and engagement of our students across all areas of school life.

Thank you to the many families who attended our recent Subject Teacher Conversations. These meetings continue to play an important role in strengthening the partnership between home and school and provide valuable opportunities to celebrate student growth, acknowledge achievements and discuss individual learning goals moving forward. It was extremely pleasing to see such strong family engagement across all year levels, with many positive and productive conversations taking place between families, students and staff.

Subject Teacher Conversations allow parents and carers to gain a deeper understanding of their child’s progress across academic, social and wellbeing areas, while also providing students with an opportunity to reflect on their own learning journey and areas for continued improvement. Our staff greatly value these conversations and the opportunity to work collaboratively with families to support each student in achieving their personal best.

We understand that family schedules can sometimes make attending difficult, and we encourage any families who were unable to attend, or who would still like to speak with one of their child’s teachers, to please contact the College to arrange a suitable meeting time. Maintaining open and ongoing communication between school and home remains a key priority at St Augustine’s College and is an important part of ensuring every student feels supported, challenged and connected in their learning.

Recently, the College received the NAPLAN Student and School Summary Report, and we are extremely pleased with the results achieved by our students across Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Our students demonstrated excellent growth and attainment in Mathematics, Reading, Spelling, and Grammar and Punctuation. These results are a testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff and the support provided by families at home. We are still awaiting the Writing results, which will be published in the coming months.

Our students have also enjoyed a range of memorable learning experiences beyond the classroom. The Years 7 and 8 Outdoor Education excursions and the VCE OES Barmah Canoe Camp were outstanding successes, with students embracing challenges, developing resilience and building strong connections with their peers and staff.

The Year 2 Stayback was another highlight, providing students with a fun and engaging evening at school. The night-time walk through the school proved to be a particular favourite and created many lasting memories for students and staff alike.

Well done to our students who competed at the Campaspe Cross Country events. It was fantastic to see students challenge themselves on a more demanding course and give their very best effort. We also acknowledge those students who have progressed through to the next stage of competition and wish them all the best moving forward.

Looking ahead, the GAT (General Achievement Test) will take place on Tuesday 16th June. This assessment is for all Year 12 students and selected Year 11 students completing a scored VCE or VET subject. Further information will be provided to students over the coming weeks to ensure they are well prepared for the day.

Families are also reminded that the Senior Pathways Information Night will be held in Week 7 on Wednesday 3rd June in the Brigidine Centre. This evening will provide valuable information for students and families as they begin planning future senior secondary pathways and subject selections.

Thank you to our students, staff and families for your ongoing support and contribution to the vibrant learning community we continue to build at St Augustine’s College.
