From the Principal

Dear Parents, Carers and Members of the St Augustine’s College Community,

As we move through the middle of Term 2, it continues to be a busy, productive and engaging time across our College community. There has been a wonderful sense of energy throughout the school, with students actively participating in a wide range of academic, sporting, cultural and co-curricular opportunities that continue to enrich learning both inside and beyond the classroom.

A number of camps, excursions and learning experiences have already taken place throughout the term, providing students with valuable opportunities to challenge themselves, build relationships and develop independence and resilience. Our students have also represented the College with pride across a variety of sporting pathways and events, demonstrating excellent teamwork, perseverance and school spirit. A special mention to our Years 5 & 6 Soccer team – what a privilege they were to coach!

Next week, our Year 9 students will participate in Camp Jungai - an incredibly valuable experience that provides opportunities for personal growth, cultural understanding and connection. We look forward to hearing about the many experiences and reflections students will bring back from the camp. Preparations are also continuing for the upcoming Year 10 Urban Experience, which remains an important opportunity for students to engage in some wonderful experiences provided in the great city of Melbourne in preparation for the future.

We were also very pleased with the strong attendance at our recent Subject Teacher Conversations. These opportunities for meaningful dialogue between students, families and teachers play a vital role in supporting student learning, wellbeing and growth. Thank you to our families for your ongoing partnership and engagement with the College.

Staff have continued to work extensively throughout the term in preparation for semester assessment and reporting processes, while also engaging in ongoing professional learning aligned with Magnify Sandhurst and evidence-informed teaching practice. The continued focus on explicit instruction, consistent classroom routines and the science of learning is strengthening classroom practice and supporting positive outcomes for students.

Next Thursday, our College community will gather for our Reconciliation Week Mass - an important opportunity for reflection, prayer and learning as we continue to deepen our understanding and commitment to reconciliation within our community. Reconciliation Week reminds us all of the importance of respect, truth-telling and walking together in the spirit of justice, healing and hope.

Construction of the new Senior School building also continues to progress well and is becoming increasingly visible across the College grounds. This exciting project represents a significant investment in the future of St Augustine’s College, and we look forward to seeing the continued development of these contemporary learning spaces in the months ahead.

A reminder that enrolment applications for 2027 close on Friday 5th June. Applications can be submitted via the College website. If you have a child commencing Foundation in 2027, we encourage you to complete the enrolment process as soon as possible to secure their place for next year. Please contact Nicole Elliott if you require any assistance or further information.

As always, I would like to sincerely thank our staff for their professionalism, care and commitment to our students and families each day. I also extend my gratitude to our families for their continued support and partnership with the College. Together, we continue to build a strong, connected and faith-filled community grounded in our College values of Strength and Kindliness.

Warm regards,

Tim Campbell
